Frequently Asked Questions

How much do your kittens cost?
Pricing is available upon enquiry. Please reach out via our contact page and we will be happy to discuss all details as part of our placement conversation.

What age do kittens go to their new homes?
Our kittens go to their forever homes at 12 to 14 weeks of age, once they are desexed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked.

Do your kittens come desexed?
Yes. All Talari Bengal kittens are desexed prior to placement. We do not place entire kittens under standard companion agreements.

What vaccinations do they receive?
All kittens receive two F3 vaccinations prior to going home, in line with the standard Australian kitten vaccination schedule. Full vaccination records are provided with your kitten. Your vet will advise on the timing of the third vaccination and ongoing boosters.

What do your kittens eat?
Our kittens are raised on a carefully considered diet here at Talari Bengals. To support a smooth transition into their new home, all kittens go home with a supply of the food they have been raised on. We are always happy to discuss nutrition and feeding as part of our placement conversation.

Do you provide pedigree papers?
Yes. All kittens come with pedigree documentation.

Can I visit the kittens before purchase?
We welcome approved applicants to meet the kittens prior to placement. Visits are arranged once an application has been reviewed and a deposit has been placed.

Are Bengals good with children?
Bengals are active, playful and deeply engaging companions who thrive on interaction and form strong bonds with their families. They love being involved in daily life and make wonderful companions for families who can match their energy and enthusiasm.

Are Bengals good with other pets?
Most Bengals adapt well to other animals when introduced carefully and gradually. They generally do well with cat friendly dogs and other cats..

Do Bengals shed much?
Bengals have a short, low shedding pelt that is easy to care for. They are not considered a high shedding breed.

Are Bengals hypoallergenic?
No cat is truly hypoallergenic, however Bengals are often better tolerated by people with mild cat allergies due to their unique coat. We always recommend spending time with the breed before committing if allergies are a concern.

How active are Bengals?
Bengals are a highly active and intelligent breed. They thrive with enrichment, play, climbing structures and mental stimulation. They are not a breed that is content to sit quietly — they want to be involved in everything.

Can Bengals go outside?
All Talari Bengal kittens are placed as indoor cats. We do not recommend unsupervised outdoor roaming. Supervised outdoor access via a fully enclosed cat run or harnessed walks is perfectly suitable — and we harness train all of our kittens before they go home, as Bengals are known to love exploring on a lead.

How do I join the waitlist?
Simply reach out via our contact page. We will have a conversation with you about your home, lifestyle and expectations before confirming your place on the waitlist.

How long is the wait for a kitten?
Wait times vary depending on the litter and your preferences. We breed selectively and infrequently, so we encourage enquiring early. Everyone on our waitlist is kept informed of upcoming litters.

Do you ship interstate?
Yes, we are happy to place kittens with approved families across Australia. We can assist with arranging interstate transport, with all associated costs to be covered by the buyer.

What is your deposit policy?
A non refundable deposit of $500 is required to secure your kitten. The remaining balance is due prior to your kitten’s desexing procedure. The deposit is non refundable except where Talari Bengals is unable to proceed due to the kitten’s health or welfare.

What happens if I can no longer keep my cat?
If your circumstances change at any point, please contact us immediately. Your cat must be returned to Talari Bengals and must not be rehomed, surrendered or transferred to any third party or rescue. We will always work with you to find the best outcome for the cat.
